Default Intex to standard adapters (thought I'd share)

I've got an 18' x 48" metal frame intex pool. I just inherited a 300lb sand filter from a buddy. It has 1 1/5" standard female threads on it and I've tried a few differnt ways to hook it up (with no success.) Anyway, I stumbled across a 1 1/5" standard to Intex thread adapter and I thought I would share with those who are dealing with the same issue. Here's a link to where I got it and the part number is Intex part #34560. Hope this helps someone out....sorry if this has already been covered.

    Don't you mean 1 1/2", or 1.5", not 1 1/5"?

Generally Intex uses 1 1/4" fittings which makes mating up with 1.5" a pain. However, there's a plumber's gizmo for fixing broken PVC that looks like a short radiator hose that comes in changing sizes (like 1.5" on one end and 1.25" on the other.).

Thanks Carl....ya, 1.5". The larger intex come with 1.5" hose with some crazy threaded 2" piece that won't fit standard pvc. The smaller ones come with 1.25 hoses without any threaded pieces. That's the beauty of this adapter, you can use your intex fittings on things other than intex (might be good for heater or other aftermarket add ons as well?)

Yeah, I actually did that when I had the Intex donut. I plumbed in a 10'x4' solar panel. It worked TOO well and gave us a 3500 gallon hot tub! Seriously! We actually hit 105deg in the thing and THAT is Hot Tub temp! I had to run the panel at night to act like a car radiator and cool the pool down! But I had to get fittings to change from the panel's 1.5" to the Intex 1.25" fittings and hoses.
