Default Taylor Kit Left out all winter

    Hey Kids,

My K-2006 was in the declk box all winter......where can I buy a new set of refills or should I just buy a new kit at the amazon site? Seems that for 58.00 I should just get a whole new kit?

    Thanks
    Cooper

You COULD try using them and see if the results make sense. I don't know which chems freeze and which are so saturated they don't freeze. You FAS-DPD powder should be fine. You ARE supposed to store the kit in a cool, dark dry place, but below freezing may not be good.

But try them first and replace what's bad.

You can see how to Recognize a Compromised Reagent. Freezing is not good, however. As for shelf-life of reagents when maintained in a cool dark place or no worse than room temperature away from sunlight, this post gives a rough shelf-life.

If your reagents are not good, it might be easier to get the whole kit, but if you decide to just replace reagents, there are several places online you can get them. I use spspoolspas.com, and have used the Taylor website in the past, although the Taylor website prices were higher.
