CYA at opening
Hey all! Nice to be back!
OK, I just want to put out there an observation over a few years of pool openings. Maybe I am just crazy, but my CYA levels always go from nearly nothing to a little and up gradually until they are accurate after about, I don't know, a week maybe less? This is without adding anything containing CYA btw. I NEVER adjust for CYA until I get a consistent reading over three tests in as many or more days. Just putting that out there for who want to get right on that low or zero reading. My pool doesn't behave like there is no CYA btw, it holds militantly on to the chlorine (I run about 85). the way I open we are not getting in it for a week at the earliest anyway, that's why I like to open kind of early. And the cold pool isn't growing stuff. I was blue again this year, opened yesterday, vac today and looks near perfect. Crazy shock though! Anyone got a 30yd dumpster load of whites?
