Re: Can I keep my pool closed this year?
I see there are no suggestions for a few days so I'll take a crack at it. I assume your equipment is winterized, pipes drained and plugged etc and that you want to leave it that way for the summer. If you want to keep the water from turning pea green then I would try adding bleach to get your chlorine level up and the rest of the chemistry right, and use a small sump pump to do some circulating. Stick the pump in the shallow end, on a step maybe, and discharge in the deep end. I am assuming you have a deep end and suggest the pump in the shallow to reduce the chance of water leaking into the pump from the higher pressure of being in the deep end. If no deep end then just circulate one end to the other. Since you have a good solid cover then there should be no dirt issue. I would also drain water off the cover to keep it from sagging. I think there are small pumps specifically for draining covers but not sure.
Hope this helps.
Any other ideas out there?
