Having just about given up any hope of recovering 120 GB of music from a failed hard drive, I know somewhat how you feel.

If it's any consolation, I'm considered one of those computer guys people go to to fix their stuff. Can't wait to drag that filter and pump out and pull the cover off!

Chuck, you have probably already tried this, but just in case it help, I recently recovered a ton of pictures and music off a 100gig drive my wife had. XP had given up on it and insisted it needed formatting. Mounted it in my linux box with little trouble, and have been using it ever since. A linux live CD might work if you don't have a linux pc. Good luck, hope you get it all back.
