    Default Birds and solar covers!!!

    Hello all,
My pool has been up and running for several weeks now, and the water looks great. What does not look great ...is the solar cover! What tips can you all share to keep the birds off the cover. I know the bird flu is no joke, but from looking at my cover I think all these birds have the "flu". As always your help is greatly appreciated.

Try putting a fake, plastic snake or two on your pool decking.

I bought a box of 6 exhibit quality rubber rattlesnakes from Ebay. They have worked to keep the squirrels and birds away from my garden swing and pool items. When the wind blows the tail rattles. We occassinally change their position to keep the animals guessing. So far no squirrel has been willing to take the chance...

I just have a dog that absolutely can't sit still, since he spends his days running our 5 acres, pretty much anything that moves doesn't move very long....
