You say the impeller is good....did you visually inspect it by taking the pump apart? Usually nothing goes wrong there unless a) really bad motor bearings and the impeller makes physical contact with the pump housing or b) something got caught in it and it got damaged, highly unlikely. How do you know the motor is turning? If there is no water in the pump housing you will hear it slowly spin down when you kill power. Sometimes the motor will hum at a low or high level depending on what failed in the electronics and just not turn. I guess sometimes people could mistake the hum for it actually turning. Any pressure reading on the filter gauge?
