Default Information overload on buying AG pool!

My head is spinning! My mind was set on buying a used pool from craigslist but after some researching (warranty is void if moved) and negative feedback from pool installers, I guess I'll be looking to buy a new pool. Just trying to be as frugal as possible but also want descent quality.

So, to buy online or local? Any online recommendations. I had my heart set on oval but keep hearing from friends to get round...less problems. Even the pool store salesmen and my installer were pushing round. I'm so confused by all this!

Has anyone heard of Zodiac pools. There are some new on ebay for a really good price.

    Thanks!

I think we have found what we want on Craigslist. It's a new in box 28' Sharkline Silhoutte. The guy said they never put it up and it's been in storage for years. Does that seem okay? We are suppose to go look at it on Sunday. Any advice on what I should be looking for or asking owner? Hopefully someone will be kind enough to reply to this. Thanks

I'd be interested to hear more about whatever reasons people had for pushing round vs. oval, Bridget! Did they ever say anything specific? I heard from one salesperson that round was better - his reason was that you get more square area/water for less money. He also claimed they were "more stable" than oval pools, but I figure if you buy a reputable brand of AG oval pool, it would be fine. After discussing it with my husband, we are going ahead with the oval pool, specifically because the longer length lends itself far better to swimming laps...but I'm still keeping my ears open to any and all information before we actually plunk down the cash on anything!
