Talking Swim season is almost here!!

The house rule is that the kids can't swim until the water gets up to 80 degrees, since that's the minimum temp at which I'm willing to go in and get them if I need to .

So...they've been watching the thermometer closely, and today the water temp is 74. Air temps are supposed to be in the high 70s to low 80s through the rest of this week with no rain....maybe we'll hit it by the weekend????

Mine's been hovering in the low 70's for about a month now (west central FL). I've been in once, the kids a few times. Sure wish it was 80, though!

I was just thinking, last week, as the ice is FINALLY gone from my pool, that soon I'll be opening.

Then for the last 3 nights we've had spring snows!

I must be getting old...I no longer delight in snow as I used to. However I do love seeing the kids and the dogs playing in it as they all just LOVE snow!

Can you use a frozen pool for ice skating?

Janet, we are just now filling our pool back up, but the kids are getting excited here too. They are ages 7, 9 & 11. They've been having fun playing with the sprinkler for the last few days. So what air temps does it take to get up to 80 degrees in the water? We are in South MS.

About 1 1/2 weeks of air temps above 80, with night time temps in the lower 70s will do it...but the night temps are still in the low 50s here for now, and we're supposed to get some rain on Sunday that will cool it off again. Still...it's close!!

Yeah, and here we're hoping that this is the last snow and that it will soon be melted and GONE!

Gee Carl, I'm sorry!! We had a cold front come through and it's only 65 degrees today!

(Of course, 65 is no closer to swimming....)
