Default Maintaining an out of State Pool

Any suggestions for maintaining a pool in a 2nd home? The BBB method works great for me here in NJ but I am going to need to maintain a year round (FL) pool and will have to get a service. I just don’t think I will be able to find a service that uses the BBB method.

Would salt be easier to maintain than chlorine?

    Anyone in a similar situation?

    thanks

I would think that salt would definitely be easier to maintain than BBB--as long as you have someone to make periodic acid additions and check your salt levels, it should be pretty maintenance free, from what I understand.

My biggest concern would be having someone there that can shut off the pump in case of low water levels, or to empty the skimmer to keep from forming an obstruction in the basket......

I have a reletive around the corner. I believe the pool has an automatic water feed when it gets low. I will definitely need some type of pool service I am jsut trying to minimize being "pooled" and having a bunch of stuff added to the pool that I don't want or need.

    thanks for the reply.
