Hi Mike and welcome to the forum. I moved your post into the construction forum where hopefully you'll get some replies from some of our builders. Glad to have you here with us!
Hello, I have a 26'x46' concrete slab in my backyard that the previous home owner used
as a basketball court. I have since removed the basketball goal and sport court tiles and
my wife and I use this area for outdoor entertaining, cookouts etc,. My question is, if we wanted to put a in ground pool here, what would be involved? Is it as simple as cutting a hole in the concrete and dropping in a fiberglass pool, or does all that concrete need to come up, pool installed, than concrete around pool? Thanks for any advise, I don't know squat about pool building!

Mike, welcome to the forum!
Though I've never installed a FG pool, with any other type you need a couple of feet of 'overdig'. This allows you enough room to attach the pipes needed for plumbing the pool.
If you want a FG pool in your yard, call the local FG pros and see what they have to say
If you want a liner or 'crete' pool, I can assist you in your selection, and you'll get input on all 3 kinds from the nice folks here!
What you need to do is decide what kind of pool you want and what your budget is. (you could easily put up a AG pool on your basketball court)
I hope to hear back from you on this![]()
