With a refinish using existing tile should I expect the plaster to be completely removed from the tile (not a difficult task but takes a little time)? Should I expect to see pieces of white plaster in the new colored pebble finish? Should the replacement tile work be of the same quality workmanship as the original? Maybe I am being unrealistic. Yes, it bothers me.

It would bother me, too--and I think I would insist that it be done right.
