"Recipe" for SWCG pools??

I remember reading a long post -- I think it was actually in a thread somewhere -- that one of the pool experts on here wrote detailing exactly where to keep chemical levels in a SWCG pool to prevent that constant PH rise. I foolishly did not bookmark it, and my computer restarted and now I can't find it. It was either Watermom, Chemgeek, or someone with "bear" in their nickname who had posted it, I believe. Anyone know what I'm talking about, and if so, can you provide the link to that thread?

It's actually very simple. Adjust to the following:
1) Adjust your SWCG to run to match the hours your pump runs (see 'Bear's article)
2) pH at 7.2 to 7.6. Even if it's at 7.2 you are OK and it will probably go up. SWCGs are known for requiring the use of more Muriatic Acid than other pools.
3) Set your SWCG to the recommended range for FC (3-5ppm)
4) Set your CYA at the high end of the manufacturer's range (80-100ppm) but no lower than 70ppm
5) Keep your T/A on the low side: 80ppm or lower.
6)Optional: Consider using borates. Those using it swear by it and I trust them. I never have because I never have the problems borates address.
7) TEST YOUR WATER! (if you don't have a Taylor K-2006 or equivalent, get one. The key is the FAS-DPD chlorine test and it is NOT the same as the DPD chlorine test. You'll have to order it on-line)
