Default Where to purchase a SWG

Hope I'm not being rude but has anyone purchased a Pilot SWG off of e-bay? I saw some pretty low prices.

If not e-bay any other suggestions?

My pool is north of 50,000 gallons - I think. Will their largest unit (Pool Pilot Super Cell 60?) work without becoming stressed?

    thanks

Wouldn't want to suggest anything on a pool this size. PoolSean will steer you in the right direction, affiliated with Pool Pilot. You might want to list more information.
Pump(s) size(s), filter type and size, plumbing size, drains, skimmers, etc.,. The more info the better, can't hurt.

    Donfranko:

I've purchased an Autopilot DIG220 with the 60 series cell off Ebay with excellent results. It was from a private seller who had never installed it. It is 2 years old, so the warranty has expired and it doesn't have the "latest" software, but still works great. The cell is oversized for my 19,000g IG, so I run about 15% ouput on the lowest power setting to maintain 5-8 ppm FC (my CYA is 90-100). No CC since installing. If I do need to shock, I'd use bleach to save on cell life and do it quickly.

On using Ebay, here are some words of caution:
    1) Pay attention to the feedback, and read the comments.
    2) Send an email with any questions. Would you expect good follow up from someone who won't even answer legitimate questions about the item they're selling?

I've bought other items from a couple of the big "pool" stores on eBay and had no issues. As always though, BUYER BEWARE!

I just ordered from saltcells.com I got the dig-48 for $1014 ( I only have 13k pool which was more then enough) the 60 was more then I needed. They came out 50 cents cheaper then the ebay stores after shipping . If I did not live in Florida I would have saved another $20 using the Ebay Stores.

Mine is coming in today so I will install it this weekend. Already pre-salted...

I purchased my new Aquarite system from a pool dealer on Ebay for $400.00 last fall. We installed it this spring on our 26K gallon pool and it seems to be working perfectly. The only chemical maint. I have to do is occassionaly add some muriatic acid to lower the PH.

I just purchased an aqualogic PS-8 and chlorinator kit from:

    http://www.swimmingpoolsetc.com/

They had the best price I could find on this unit. I have not received the unit yet as I ordered it last night around 8 PM, but they seem to be on the ball as I have already received Fedex tracking numbers. If things go south from here you can be sure I will post a warning on the forum for others to stay away, but so far I have nothing but praise.

    Regards,

    Mark

    Donfranko,
The SC-60 may or may not work on your 50,000 gallon pool. I would say that if your pool was indoor, not heated excessively, and understanding that you may have to run your pump up to 24 hrs/day, it will not be a problem.
For example, I have a pool with the smallest SC-36 cell that is maintaining 50,000 gallon indoor pool in Canada, no problems.

Remember when we rate the SC-60 cell at 50,000 gallons, this would be for an outdoor pool with a normal bather load and up to 24 hrs/day pump run time.
