    Default Newb pool person

Hey new here on the board and need advice. I purchased a house with a pool last year. So I have repaired minor things with no problem but now I noticed water is leaking from the pool pump. I checked all around where I could see but am unable to locate the leak. sad face. It appears to be leaking from under the pump or someplace I have missed. Any way this morning I checked before work and the ground is pretty wet from it running all night. Thanks in advance for any thoughts....

Welcome to the forum. First, what make and model pump and how old? May not know the age being it came with the house but you can get some idea if it is outside in the weather by seeing how weathered it looks. Is it making any strange noises? It could be something as simple as tightening the bolts that hold the motor to the pump housing. There usually is an O-ring gasket in there. Or it could be a seal starting to leak. If you can tell if the water is coming out of the motor vents then it is probably a seal. Give us more info and we'll go further.
