    Default Gold line salt generator

Just fixed my board, The veristor at the top right hand side of the board was burned out. Digi Key has them at a cost of around $2.59 each. Make sure you check this before you buy a new board. This is a common problem with these boards. This is an easy fix, took me about ten minutes. I suggest you put an inline suppresor on this board. Don't be fooled though, this problem occurs because the cell is dirty and it draws more current through this device. Keep your cell clean and this should not happen.

Hi Todd. Can you give some more details on the inline suppressor?

Does anyone else carry this part? It's on backorder for a month. My board was working ok until I put a new cell in. Could the new cell have caused this?

I ordered the next one closest to the one needed and it works like a charm. Up and running making chlorine for 2 days now. A cheap alternative and very easy to do. Thanks for the info you guys saved me a grip of money!! I ordered the correct one also so when it's off backorder I'll swap it out.

Where exactly on the PCB does this inline suppressor go? I have a burned out component on my PS8 mainboard, right next to the 120v input, at the "bottom right" of the board (not "top right", as stated in the 1st post). It looks like a red varsistor maybe.

I'm hoping to get the part ordered so when my dad visits for the holidays he can replace the component (he's got mad soldering skills).

    Thanks much,
    Josh
