Actually, about 800 ppm difference is 'in range' You are fine.
I got an "open" bag of salt from leslies when I went to get the strips (there was one local, after I checked the website. I like the staff at pincher penny better, but I digress) which I got for about 5 bucks. I'm gonna let the pump take a break tonight and put some more in in the morning.
Oh, one more question. Could the flashing "check cell" condition (reduced efficiency is what the manual says) be caused by the low salt level (also flashing), or does the check cell indicator not get affected by the low salt.
Yes, a low salt condition can actually case premature cell failure so the system will shut off if the conductivity is too low (not enough salt or water is too cold.)
