    Red face First time testing: Not sure of Chlorine #s

    Hi,

    Crazy day. Not sure if I posted my numbers yet.. Here is what I determined from my kit.
    I used the 25ml sample to be a bit more accurate.

    PH 7.7
    TA 40ppm
    CH 40 ppm

    As far as the chlorine test. Really not sure how to determine the results. Upon adding my first scoop of powder my sample did turn pink. I then added 2 drops of the R-0871 and went to colorless.
    FC= 0.4ppm ?
    I then added 5 drops of the R-0003 and sample DID NOT turn pink. At this point I was not sure what to do. CC=0 ?

    The sample sat there for a min or 2 it took on a very very slight pink hue? Not sure so I decided to proceed. Since it was ever so pink (if you want to call it that) I added 1 drop of R-0871 and then it went back to colorless. Multiplied my 1 drop by the 0.2. CC= 0.2ppm?

    TC= 0.4ppm or 0.2ppm not exactly sure!

    Would be ever so grateful if someone could look them over. If I am going to be successful with this kit I really need to know what I am doing. The other tests seemed to be fairly straight forward, just the chlorine one was a bit tricky for me.

    Thanks again,
    Carrie

    So far it looks like you're doing it right. After you put the 5 drops of R-0003 in and it doesn't turn pink again, you can stop. If you leave it on the counter, it will eventually start to turn a little pink, but if you truly have CC in the water, it will turn pink immediately after adding and swirling the drops.
