    Hi.....I can definitely see the bottom of the pool, just not that 'sparkling' clear water that we're all looking for. I would call it 'dull' at best.

    I'll add another 182oz jug of bleach now and let the filter run overnight. We'll see how that works.

    Thanks for the hand-holding. I appreciate it.

    As of 11pm here are my cl levels:

    FC = 17.2 ppm
    CC = 0

    We'll see what they look like in the morning. Have a good evening!

    As of 8:30am here are my cl levels:

    FC = 11.0 ppm
    CC = 0
    pH = 7.2

    Water seems to be VERY slowly getting clearer, but again very hard to tell. Still very dull. Unsure why I would lose so much cl overnight though.

    I'll be gone most of the morning and early afternoon with family but will check the levels later when I get home.

    Happy 4th of July everyone!!

    Go ahead and add more bleach this morning. I was hoping you wouldn't have chlorine loss overnight. Darn. Don't forget to check filter pressure. Have a good day with your family.

    Watermom, I will go along with you on this, because you know more than I do about pools, but I thought as long as you don't have cc then it is ok to swim. I was thinking the chlorine loss was due to the chlorine breaking down the dead stuff (watermold) so it could be filtered out. I know when I was fighting watermold the water took a while to clear, and it used up mega doses of chlorine. It took almost a week for the water to get back to it's regular sparkly clean look. I am very interested in you answer, thanks

    Since he has not had any significant CC for a couple of days, he would probably be ok to go ahead and swim but wear old suits. Then, shock the pool again tonight after everyone is out.

    Well, we decided to give the pool another day to clear up so we didn't swim today. At about 4pm the FC was 7.4 and the CC was zero. We checked again at 10pm and the FC was 5.2 and the CC was still zero. I added a little bit of bleach tonight to bump up the cl levels in case there was loss tonight so we could ideally get a normal FC for tomorrow so we can swim. I also added some borax to bump up the pH from it's current 7.2 level. If all goes well we'll be swimming fools tomorrow!

    The pool is not crystal clear but it's really nice. Gotta start working on how to get it crystal clear.

    Hope everyone had a great 4th!!

    I think it's definitely a swim day today! Supposed to be close to 100-degrees so the pool looks really inviting.

    I checked the FC this morning at 9:15am and it was 5.6ppm with zero CC. The pH is holding good at 7.4 too. The water is as clear as it has been all week too. Looks great!

    Guess I'm getting to know my pool much better (and the BBB method too since is my first crack at it.) I'll keep checking in and ask questions if I need help. Huge thanks to everyone (especially Watermom) who helped me get to this point. I can't thank you enough. Don't hesitate to ping me if you need anything up this way in PA!!
