diagnosing low amps problem in Pool Pilot
Hi there! I have a Pool Pilot bought in 2006, and I have replaced the cell a few times, always with original parts. After the most recent replacement, I noticed that my pool is no longer getting chlorinated (i.e. ZERO chlorine level). The Pool Pilot starts fine, indicating 3,000 ppm salt, but after less than one minute it starts flashing with a "Low Amps" message.
What's the best way to diagnose the problem? I could put the old cell back in (it was still working, although not as well) but is there anything else I can or should do? The self-test didn't provide any useful information.
There used to be some Pool Pilot guy helping folks on this forum. Is it still happening?
Thanks!
Luigi
Re: diagnosing low amps problem in Pool Pilot
first, I would make sure the cell is clean and if not, then clean it
then, check the power cord connections to the control panel. I had one corroded once and it was giving me a low amps warning.
Also, it could be the fuses in the control panel, but I've never had to change my fuses so I'm not sure how to check those.
Re: diagnosing low amps problem in Pool Pilot
I would check the salt level as well, salt makes the water more conductive and therefore has a major effect on the current (Amps) being drawn.
