what is a power ionizer?

I see that the previous owner installed this power ionizer thing. It is displaying a temperature (that im not sure is accurate). There is a dial on the side that is set to 2 if i turn it any higher I get a red service light. 2 and lower gives me a green "active" light.

any suggestions?

The active light means the unit is recieveing electrical power (don't they usualy call those things "on indicator lights?:rolleyes:) and the red light means that the electrodes need to be replaced. The temperature is supposed to be accurate to within 4 deg if the pump is on and water is flowing through it.

Best suggestion I can give you about it is to disconnect it and get it out of your system. :eek:

ok i think the previous owner used it at one time, but now its just a huge temperature display!
