Well water left running over night - IRON!!

I was filling my pool with city water. My son put well water in to do it faster. I went to shut water last night and of course only shut the city water. Now my pool overflowed, has a green tinge. I know our well water has iron in it as all our walkways are orange from the well water.

Pool was perfectly balanced prior to this. We have 38k gallons.

Is there a way to get rid of the iron as I know the pool doc hates metal removers. Or is it better to start all over. I just lost my job and cash is very tight.
