I went to my local Home Depot today to pick up some Muriatic Acid. I think I recalled finding it in the paint section last year. I asked a salesperson where I woudl find muriatic acis & they told me that HD doesn't carry it anymore. He was bummed because he uses it for his pool as well! Does anyone know why HD stopped carrying muriatic?
I was at 2 HD's this past weekend and both still had it in stock in the garden center.
I get mine from Lowes, it's in the paint section there.
You might also try a farm and ranch supply place. I found MA there for (now) $2.99/gallon and it's the 32% (?) concentration. It's in their plumbing section.
Most Ace Hardware stores carry it.

I bought MA this morning at the HD here in suburban New Orleans. They have it outside in the gardening section near the pool stuff.
I'm in CT. I didn't think to check the garden section. I figured the salesperson in the paint section would've told me so.
I'm in CT also. First tried to buy it at Home Depot last summer but they didn't carry it and haven't since. No problem finding it at Lowe's, but not in the garden section, try where paint thinner is sold.
I just bought 2 gallon pack yesterday at my local HD. $9.99.
My Home Depot in PA, has the Muriatic Acid outside in the Garden Section. 2 Gallons for $9.99. Lowes is more expensive, the same amount is around $14.99.
I just bought some today at my loca HD here in Southern Calif at $8 for 2 gals. They have crates of it in the pool supply area, which is near the H&G section.

I guess it just depends which part of the country you live in .. here in Canada ... Toronto .. I've been to Home Depot and they indicated they stop carrying them :eek: ... went to local Rona .. and sales staff couldn't find them :confused: .. even though the computer said there was a quantity of 20 somewhere .. when to a Canadian Tire .. and voila! :D .. in the paint section ... was a couple dollars :)
