Re: Doughboy or Esther Williams????
I'm new at this also (we bought an 18x38 Doughboy because that is all that is offered in our area that can have a deep end) and at that time I hadn't came across this forum.
The BIG lesson we learned in hindsight is to really investigate your installer and company. We didn't, chose based on price, and found out a year later that he had 4 complaints through the Better Business Bureau. Our warranty is through Doughboy, so we don't really need him now, good thing since he is out of business and running a coffee shop instead.
Anyway, might be worth checking out if you haven't already.

Re: Doughboy or Esther Williams????
Thanks denan bob for the photo bucket info. I will work on that until I have something to start photographing. I am to get the call next sat. on a date and time of install. I will try to post pictures throught out the progress of it all. Our best friend has moved two small trees for me, now I have the 30' circle painted and am waiting on them. I will now be switching gears and reading up on the chlorine threads, and electrical threads etc. Thanks to all for making this one successful...........keep it going because it should truly help future agpool seekers. THANKS AGAIN GUYS.

Re: Doughboy or Esther Williams????
This is photo #1. You can see now what I mean. Making a bridge from the existing deck, removing the steps and reusing and bringing the deck towards you w/ the pool circle on the right. The deck will also wrap around the side of the pool closest to the deckw/ the pump/filter being placed close to the bottom right of the picture. Probably about 2 feet of rock and landscape timbers around the rest. Still debating on whether or not we want about a 3 ft walkway around the rest of the pool. Any thoughts guys........as always we welcome your input or ideas.
Re: Doughboy or Esther Williams????
hello Tracy,
get a doughboy. I got mine 16 years ago, best thing I ever did. I've had the sand changed only twice, and had to replace the motor last year. I'm over 60, divorced, and living totally alone, I've done everything myself.
They are easy to work with, the parts are durable. I would make one advice regarding hoses, they wear out pretty quick, especially here ,[coastal Mississippi.] Go to Lows and get the clear heavy plastic hoses for filter to pool, it will save you a lot of work, and money. happy swimming. Carol
Re: Doughboy or Esther Williams????
Well, this is finally the time to praise my pool. Starting from scratch on this forum, and learning what I felt I needed to to purchase my pool lead me to the purchase of a 30' AG EW. I love it . I love the liner, the outside, the strength of the pool and especially the top rail that is rough, but doesn't get hot and is strong enough to walk on if need be to get that last little leaf on the other side of the pool. Thanks for posting this in the FAQ's section. I saw this and thought I would put some closure on the Thread I started back last year. There are photos of this pool in the above ground pool II thread. Thanks guys and good luck with whichever pool you choose.
Re: Doughboy or Esther Williams????
Well, it's going on year 3..wow how time flies. So far I'm elated with my Ester Williams pool. Only problem I faced were the top rails chipping paint, in which since they have sent me 8 new ones. Yeah, I have to replace them myself, but NO it's not going to be hard, just a few hours. Liner and pool body still looking brand new. Happy with my choice so far. Good luck in your choices people
