Since Costco online had both of them, I went ahead and bought the Max version thinking that if it didn't have enough suction I could always return it and get the CG model. It arrived and I'm happy to say it sucks. So it won't be getting returned. I also picked up the sand and silt bag off of ebay for it.
The one thing I love about this little guy is that I can turn the pump off and vacuum allowing me to see the bottom clearly. Thanks to everyone that replied.
This morning I just bought the standard Poolbuster Max at www.bestbuypoolsupply.com in California, for $190.75 shipped. If I find I need the finer bag, I'll pick it up later.
at bestbuypoolsupply.com they offer a weekly online coupon code discount. Look for it on their website. It's only 2%, but heck, it helps to pay the shipping. :)
Frontgate has the CG PoolBuster for 349. Very pricey but this is what you get:
Enhanced pool cleaner kit includes concrete pool wheels, vinyl brushes, spot-clean nozzle, extra filter bags, and micro filter bags.
Bumping this up.
