I have had my original Aquabot for 4 seasons now and I do love it. It works well in pretty much any color/temp water (sometimes my water gets away from me. :( ) The bag is REALLY easy to clean. I alway only use a garden hose to clean it. I did have to make a small ziptie adjustment to the cord to make sure it would not get tangled in itself.
They claim it can run for like 10 cents a day, but I don't really believe that. When I click it on, my meter seems to spin just as fast as when my regular filter is on. I think I paid about 800 CASH for it at a pool store in NY around 4 years ago.
Good luck!
CARLO.

Thanks, CarlD and Carlo. I have a 20K, IG pool that is shaped like a pregnant kidney. After reading your posts I found a Web site about the Aquabot. One w/o the shut-off timer sells for about the same price as Dophin I was considering. I'll read more about this Aquabot.

There are other brands. DirtDevil has one, and, if you poke around the various on-line pool stores you'll find the other brands.
They all follow the same design--they are all spin-offs of one company in Israel. I don't know the details but there seems to have been a family conflict and other brands were created as they left the original company. No, I don't know which brand it was.
