Re: Sink hole, pool not level...
OK, Dug a trench about 16' x8" on thew low side, filled with qp, compacted with a plate compactor, used foam cove and smooth out the sand as best I could.
By the way, the plate compactor was great with the qp, however, it was unuseable in the sand, kept gouging the sand, I'll try a sod roller.
Question is, can I use pieces from the old liner over the sand for additional protection for the new liner? After this repair, im seeing more pebble/rocks than I want.
Thanks
Anthony
Re: Sink hole, pool not level...
I would use the foam pad, I like mine and would use it again. Your sand should not have rocks in it, I am sure that they may settle in but that is quite a gamble.
As for rolling the sand or compacting it, sand is compacted, it really does not go down much more that it already is, the best way to compact sand is to flood it with water, displace the air, as the water seeps out, it pulls the sand down with it and settles it. I have gotten all of the dirt back into the hole alot of times doing this. Ever notice how when you dig a hole all the dirt never fits in it again?
Are you a Point of Sale guy? I am too for now.

I may return to construction, the money is alot better there, I am playing it out to see where it takes me, I install and upgrade POS systems now, I enjoy it, the hours are nice, but the pay blows big time. The thing that is hard, I am happy doing it. But I don't have any money, so I am not happy. Life.
