New build in South Texas

So.... Since the crane was here anyways...... my wife and I had talked about moving the lions. She always thought that we needed something on the pillars at the end of the infinity edge. We found out the lions weigh over 900lbs. apiece. The pool builder had said "I'll get a bunch of guys and we'll get it up there". I told him "no way, someone would get killed". That's when I thought the weighed 500lbs. If you remember this is where they were...

Now why would I do that?

Up to you, of course.

But pools with people look life fun, rather than just 'things'.

It does say "pool construction and repair" not frolicking and enjoying your pool. "Things" need to be done and purchased.

That's, sadly, exactly what I see :o.

Actually, if I imagined myself at the pool, I'd either be behind the grill, or in the lake in a canoe touring my younger nieces and nephews, or taking pictures. That's usually my role, now: cooking or teaching or photographing. Even since I became a lifeguard instructor (20+ years ago, now), I can't actually relax around swimmers of unknown (or worse: poor) skill levels.

The ones I'd imagine IN the pool would be my sons and their families or friends, and my nieces and nephews.

We've gotten a new canoe to take to my wife's family reunion, so I expect I'll spend a lot of my time teaching with it. We've been taking kayaks for about 15 years, but those are more intuitive, for very easy water. Canoes, even on flat water, take some skills. We hope to work up to 4 canoes in a few years, but I need to train some people, first. We'll also be testing using a UV lamp and a big sheet to collect moths (the reunion is in the woods, on the Ocoee river), so next year, when the mass of 4th generation kids will be back, we'll be ready.
