Backwash hose leaks at top connection

I just put a new backwash hose on my filter. I clamped it down like the old one, but water comes gushing out at the top of it.

Any suggetions on how to get water to stop spraying out of the top of it when I back wash?? I have tightened it all I can without possibly breaking the plastic connector.
