24 round AG Pool = gallons ?
PH 8.2
ch - 0.1
alk - I got 3 drops x 10 = 300 ? can this be right ?
My pool at this point is a cloudy light blue
I started out 2 days ago with swamp green and yes I did it .I went and spent 45.00 at walmart and bought a 16 lb. pucket of granules :confused:
Do I need to balance my PH while fighting algae?
Help me I don't have enough money for all these chemicals but I don't want to spend 2 weeks getting it blue and ready to swim

So let's say your pool holds 14000 gallons of water
you need to bring your ph down to about 7.4 and you must use muratic acid or a commercial ph lowering agent
chlorine is not as effective at higher ph's

If you are showing signs of green water you must shock pool to about 20 ppm. You also need a decent test kit that will read up to up to high level.

I would add 6 bottles of the 3/4 gallon size of ultra bleach, check your CL level twice a day and keep the level up till it clears.
I cant see your alk level being correct 3 x 10 is 30 not 300

if your ph is high i would expect your alk to be high but not 300 and if it is the ph lowering will bring down the alk.

You also need to post your stabilizer level
this is what protects your chlorine from the sun.

so we need you to post
Free Chlorine
Stabilizer or CYA level
PH
Alkalinity
at minimum
Take your water to a pool store and have them test but dont buy in to their chemical trap

The rules haven't changed. Lots and lots of chlorine, and lower your pH.

Your TA is 30, not 300. That's low but not an unusual #.

Don't worry about it now--get your pH down to 7.3 first.

If you have a really thoroughly algae-infested pool you have no choice--you are going to have to use the time-tested fight that may WELL take 2 weeks. I just spent $17 on a carboy (5 gallons) of 12%--which usually tests at 14%. That means 1 gallon of that will raise your pool's FC by about 10ppm. (I'm figuring you have 13,500 gallons). That's like paying $1.45 per gallon of Ultra Bleach.....a really good price!

The time-tested method:
Keep your pool at shock level (depends on your CYA level)
Check this 2 to 3 times a day
Keep your pH in the normal range, preferably at the low end.
Vacuum to waste once a day.
Brush the walls and floor once a day.
Keep at it.
