I need some help on my PH testing chemical. Lats year I bought at Taylor kit and the PH vial had the number 14 on it. I went to the pool store to get new chemicals and all they had for PH was 04. They said it was the same thing, but Im not thinking it is. Is the 14 for the DPD kit and 04 for the OTO kit?
Is there really a difference?

My pH reagent is Taylor R-0014, and it is in my OTO kit. The Taylor website has R-0004 listed as "2000 series", and the R-0015 listed as "residential series". Not sure about the difference, but you could call the number on the website and see.

I think the test cell block is a difference size, thus the need for different reagent.
0014 has a chlorine neutralizer in it. 0004 does not.

BOTH have chlorine neutalizer in them, the difference is that the R-0004 is used with a 45 ml sample of water and the R-0014 is used with a much smaller sample size (off the top of my head I think it is 9 or 10 ml) so it is more dilute. They are NOT interchangable!
