Is it ok to go bigger with the sand filter?

I know this has been discussed, but I cannot find it. I am looking at getting a better sand filter and am think of going larger than what I could probably get away with. Is there any issue with doing this?

Nope...would never go with the larger pump. Very happy with my 3/4hp 2 speed that I bought instead of the one that came with the pool.
