Pool Water Cloudy - All Numbers are Good?
Hi there;
My water has been clear since I opened it up a few weeks ago, thanks to this forum. This morning, I went out & the deep water was somewhat cloudy. I promptly ran the numbers & everything seems fine:
CYA - ~30
FC - 4 ppm
PH - 7.4
TA - ~80
Am I missing something which will clue me in to resolve this issue?
Re: Pool Water Cloudy - All Numbers are Good?
Do you have a CC reading? If it's not zero then that's your answer.
Do you have a Calcium or Calcium Hardness reading? If the cloud is white it could be that.
But in the meantime, shock your pool up to 15ppm (FC) and keep it there until it clears. Run your filter 24/7. Brush and vacuum your pool everyday, and vacuum to waste.

Just rechecked numbers:
CC - ~1 ppm
CA - ~70, although I have a vinyl pool.
Will shock it & see what happens.
Thanks.
Re: Pool Water Cloudy - All Numbers are Good?
Yeah, you need to shock to at least 14ppm to break up the CC.

At how many ppm of FC does it become unsafe to swim?

With a CYA of 70, then I wouldn't have any problem getting in it at Cl of 10 or below.
