HTH pH Down- can I use it?

Hi all,
I just found some HTH pH Down in my basement.
I bought it before i knew better.
Well it just so happens my pH is 8.2 or higher.
Can I use this stuff instead of the whole *lowering the Alk and pH then raising the pH routine*? Not that i mind doing that but hey, I got this bottle of powder just sitting here....... Do I pitch it or use it?

It's actually what's generically called Dry Acid and yes, you can use it.
