thepoolcleaner... will it work for my pool?
I have a Aquabot Pool Rover Plus which I absolutely love. But I have a fiairly leafy pool and I'm also considering a pressure side cleaner to just leave in the pool. That way the pool is ready just about anytime I want to go swimming.
I do not want to add a booster pump or go with fancy controls... I'm considering thepoolcleaner as it requires very low pressure to operate.
I have a 26KG IG pool with a 3/4HP motor and a Hayward EC-65 filter. Is there an easy way to measure the pressure to determine whether I have enopuh ooomph?
Any thepoolcleaner owners out there? WHat's your opinion?
Re: thepoolcleaner... will it work for my pool?
How many returns do you have?
Re: thepoolcleaner... will it work for my pool?
What is the pressure on the filter? If it is greater than 15 PSI, you should be OK.
Re: thepoolcleaner... will it work for my pool?
2 returns and 1 skimmer...
The pressure on the filter (read from the gauge on the EC-65) is just about ~15 or so (I backwash when it gets to ~20). But is pressure read at the filter what one can expect from the returns?
Also... I do have the plumbing for a cleaner which was never hooked up. I think I may put a Jandy Valve in so I can redirect the water to the cleaner and the returns.
Re: thepoolcleaner... will it work for my pool?
If you can isolate the return to just the cleaner or partially to the cleaner, you should have no problem at all. Your best bet is to put in the valve so you have some control of pressure and flow.
Think I'll go for it... Any issues with leaving it in the pool all the time?
Are there any issues with leaving the cleaner in the pool and running all the time (except for when swimming. Our season is usually from June through August. That would mean with 110~120 days and filter operating 12 hrs/day about 1000hrs/season.
Re: thepoolcleaner... will it work for my pool?
With only two returns, it should work (no promises!).
I have six returns, so there are too many alternate paths for the water. I am having to put in a booster pump.
