C'mon baby light my fire!

I'm in the process of building a gunite pool with a firepit , both by the PB. The firepit is a "typical" circular type with natural gas. Is it possible to build it such that you can also use it for BBQ/grilling? How would you do it?(so I can discuss it with my PB)

Also, can it also be build so it can also use charcoal or wood(in addition to gas) for warmth or BBQ? Thanks for any help.

This is the correct place for this post--Pool construction would have been OK, too. I've locked the other thread down, and will delete it tomorrow.
