help! Filter not running

We just got our 24 ft above ground pool installed in May. All has been working great, not a single glitch(ok, some little ones). Wednesday I vacuumed the pool, all went well. I even continued to run the filter when the vacuuming was complete. Thursday I went to run the filter, but nothing happenned..NOTHING, not even a hum. We thought maybe the breaker was tripped(it wasn't). Today I tried again only to hear a hum come from the pump. We removed the basket on the pump to see if anything was jammed, all was fine. Continued on, only to hear the humming noise.
Does anyone have any suggestions?? By the way it is a pro-line pump and a proline high rate sand filter.

Help..it is the beginning of August and I hate to lose control of my crystal clear pool!!!
