Tematech?
There has been alot of discussion detailing the history of Maytronics (Dolphin), the split-off and creation of Aquaproducts, then Watertech, etc.
It appears that Watertech (Blue Diamond) has close, friendly relationship with Aquaproducts (Aquabot). I always assumed that Dolphin and Aquaproducts do not have a good relationship from the advertising, and whatever split that took place long ago created a big seperation. Aquabot has always made big point that it is made in USA, not Israel like Dolphin (Maytronics).
Anyway, it appears that the Aquabot Bravo is about same thing as Blue Pearl. However, it also appears that the Bravo is really made by Tematech, which is based in all places, Israel. That might also suggest the Blue Pearl is coming from there too.
So, who exacty is Tematach and how does it fit into the whole history between Maytonics, Aquaproducts, Watertech ,etc?

Re: Tematech?
So basically every pool cleaner comes from Israel and 99% of the distributors are from New Jersey. :) Conspiracy?

Re: Tematech?
Aquabot was started by the US representative of Dolphin, the original
manufacturers of the robotic pool cleaners , way back when.He lived in the US and was the representative of Dolphin,he wasn't their distributor , he worked FOR them and I belive they (Dolphin )distibuted it by themselves . He got smart (or Greedy) and went on his own, changed some of the insides and outsides of the units and opened up Aqua Products.A few years ago, his son opened up watertech/Blue Diamond , I think it was to corner more of them market and to add more competition to themselves !! The warranty card for the Bliue Diamond cleaners gets sent to the Aqua products customer service center (at least it did 3 years ago when I bought mine).Tematech is their Israeli distibutor , the aquabots and Blue Diamonds are made in the USA, says so on the inside of the machine , use the same bags and are the exact same machines , albeit they added the 1 hour cleaning .The Bravo/viva aquabots are the exact as the Blue Diamond /Blue Diamond remotes. The Dolphins are made in israel and are distributed solely by Smartpool, I don't know for how much longer as Smartpool seems to be messing around with customers machines and Maytronics reputation, for those of you who want a crash course in hebrew "May " in hebrew means water hence "maytronics" or Watertronics, very similar indeed to Aquabot !!

Re: Tematech?
Thanks, interesting. The Tematech website certainly makes it look like they are making the Aquabot Bravo. Also, on certain comaparison charts, the country of origin for the Bravo says NA, instead of USA, thus my confusion.
I see there is also Aquatron, Inc in New Jersey, appearing to make the Bravo?
BTW, are there alot of swimming pools in Israel? I really don't know anything about Israel other than the usual news, which doesn't give impression much pool lounging is going on.
The Tematech website says, "Let Tematech Build You A Custom Line of The World's Finest Automatic Pool Cleaners Under Your Brand and/or Logo."

Re: Tematech?
Another thing to consider is the FTC rules on Made in the USA. 100% of the parts can be Israeli, but as long as X% or XX% of the assembly is done in the US, it can be labeled Made in the USA. Not that I personally care, but there can still be a shell game going on.
And the 1 hour cleaning is a farce as well. It says 1 hour, but I know the Aquabot Viva take 1.5 hours to just do the bottom as that's what the default timer is set to. If memory serves the FULL cleaning cycle is 3 hours to include the bottom and walls, so the 1 hour cleaning is not particularly true.
I'll state my full Aquabot Viva story (and it's a doozy) once my new model shows up. Seems I got my hands on a brand new one for $1100, but boy was it a troubled road that led me to that killer deal.

Re: Tematech?
Just noticed yesterday when putting my Blue Pearl power supply away it has a label on the back that says "Tematech Power Supply".
