I have a kreepy krawler that I have used for 2 years. I recently converted from baq to bbb. I put my kreepy krawler in to clean the pool and the disk is all gummed up and stickie like its melting. I clean it with a rag and I can see the rubber material rubbing off.
Any ideas?

Ouch! Hope you liner isn't following in the kreepy crawley's footsteps....
Most times, it's deet (mosquito repellent) that eats rubber/plastics, I wonder what kind of chemicals got on it to cause that, usually chlorine just bleaches rubber and possibly, enough of it might prematurely dry the rubber out, I can't see it being a baquil to chlorine conversion that did it...
I called Pentair today and the lady I talked to said it was most likely the Baq.
She said to take it out when shocking the pool. I asked to define Shock she said when you shock your pool. I then asked how many ppm of chlroine can the unit hold up too because people use different levels of chlorine depending on what the cya levels of the pools are and mine was below 10 when I put it in the pool.
Well she said she didnt know. I will buy another one because what they want for the two parts I need I can buy a new one and I think it works great for my pool.
After visiting this fourm I have reached the knowledge level of dangerous :D

Suracefeeder: I encountered the same situation with my Zodiac Barracuda G3. High levels of Chlorine caused the diaphragm to become soft (according to the manufacturer). As it goes soft, it starts to move slower and slower until it just stays in one spot. I replaced the diaphragm ($30) and it's back to working great. I have a CYA of 80 with a pool temp around 88 degrees, so I need to keep the Chlorine at 10-15 ppm. I figure that I will need to replace the diaphragm once maybe twice a year.
