Average autochlorinator feeder rate usage?

Guys/gals,

This may be a silly question, but I'm asking anyway. I have a WaterWay Clear Water 26 inch sand filter, 200lb sand, with the inline automatic chlorinator feeder, and am currently using the 3 inch trichlor tablets in there. I try to keep 2 in there, shock once a week, and daily test. I have the flow rate set to about 3/4, and normally get readings of FC at 1-2 ppm. My stabilizer/conditioner reading is on the low end of testing. I'm using test strips now, but from other posts, see that I should invest in a drops based testing system.

Freshly filled and opended the pool of 6/7, and since then have went through about 5/6 pucks. Is this normal usage for a 18' agp with about 8600 gallon capacity. It is heavily used by kids daily, and gets a pretty good bit of sun.
