Hayward EC-65 Perflex repair/replace.

I was having some pressure issues with my Ec-65 pump would run for about half an hour and then the pressure would rise to 25 and very little water would move. Our local pool place said the best option was to replace the whole filter unit with a cartridge type for about 1,200 dollars. We have had no experience with a cartridge so was a little hesitant to go with that.

the other 2 options was

Replace all the fingers
Replace the whole finger nest.


Replacing each individual fingers would cost to much and buying the nest online was about 500 dollars. I ended up doing some more research and found I could buy the whole unit online for less than 500 dollars. Makes no sense that one part can cost more than the whole thing... but i'm not complaining I now have extra parts I will ether keep as spares or sell online.
