Salt Cell Replacement, require new computer?

New to the forum, and new to pool ownership. Just bought a house that has a pool that has outdated saline equipment, but is being maintained a chlorine pool. I'd like to get the equipment back into shape and maintain it as a saline pool.

The salt cell is a single port type (Aquapure, square in shape), and is discontinued. Seems like a simple fix - purchase a new Jandy-Aquapure salt cell 3 port style salt cell replacement kit. Most of the sites that offer this product (for ~$500) have the "may require replumbing" caveat. I understand that part, but what I don't know is if I will have to replace the controller panel (not sure correct name for this) too? Or will the old panel also work with the newer 3 port style salt cell?
