New member first post.

Hello to all. I am new to this forum and I do have a question but first I will give some information about myself and my pool.
I could not fill out the pool questionnaire because I could not locate it after I signed up for the forum and logged in.
First off I go by Tom. I am in my 60's and am a 20 year retired US Navy , 11years with sears as a appliance/ TV repairman. I also have worked 15years as an Engineering technician at a medical electronics manufacturer. I am married and have 2 children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great Grand child.
My pool is an INTEX 18' X 4 ' soft sided metal frame pool. I upgraded from the 1500 gph pool pump to the 2500 gph pump. I have been running intex pools for years but this year I cannot get rid of the algae or cloudy pool.

I do not have a list of the pool chemicals I have on hand but here is what I do know. 6 gal of bleach, 1 container of floculant (Clorox brand) a box of super shock Costco source (Clorox super shock with algae killer). A pale of 3" chlorine tabs. PH up and PH down(it used to be in previous years I had to boost my PH but this year it is very high.
My pool chemistry is unknown except from Guess strips and leslies pool store. They both show my chlorine and free chlorine at about 2%, my water very hard, ph at 7.8% phosphate at 300 alkalinity high CYA normal.
The pool was filled with well water over 2 years ago and has been kept full since. I treated it all winter under a cover using shock once a week and checking the water balance.
when I opened the pool it was clear and clean. I then got busy and neglected it for a couple of weeks. For the last month I have been going crazy trying to get it back. Sorry for the long post. Tom
