just starting out with BBB

Let me start with the pool. I'ts an odd shape mesuring 38' long on 1 side and 32' on the other side making the ends 20' and roughly 9'. I believe its roughly 35000 gal. I've read a lot here and I still feel like I'm missing something. So 1st add the bleach, then test and regulate levels. What happens after that? Do I simply use chlorine tabs to keep it "regular" or am I using bleach all year? Could I get a brief list of steps just to be sure I'm reading this correctly.
