Yellow Algae

info on your pool (size/type, filter & pump make/model, special equipment, etc.)

We have an old, large (16 x 30ish foot, 10 foot deep) fiberglass pool near Tampa, FL and use a cartridge filter which we clean frequently by hosing off debris.

We ran the pump 4 hours during the night and more often recently as we begin to use it (always run it during use).

What we kept thinking was pollen now seems to be indicative off YELLOW ALGAE. The chlorine level fell once recently since it was warm but other than than pH and chlorine are good (per Taylor Basic Kit).

We have tried to manage the pool on our own due to budget restrictions. Reading onine about this algae is depressing me!!! What is the best way to resolve the problem and then keep it from recurring?
