DE Filters clogging after very short time

Hi out there! My first post...

I'm basically bringing the pool back to life after the winter. It's light green right now, and sorry don't have any #'s for the chemicals at this time. Working on getting it shocked, but with the way the filters are acting...

My DE filters are clogging within a couple hrs after I have disassembled and cleaned them with the hose. At this point, even after a back-flush, it clogs within 30 min or so.

Usually in the past, I have only needed to back-flush every couple weeks or so. (regardless of how nice or cloudy the water was)

The filters are a couple years old, and seem to clean up real nice with the hose.

It's an older Pentair system with 8 grids (7 + 1 small)

Pool is around 20' x 40' (shaped like mr peanut), & ~40k gallons w/attached spa


Also, I need a new timer, anybody have a good recommendation?
