Tell us more about your pool, and we recommend everyone get a good test kit. We recommend the Taylor Technologies K-2006 or K-2006C available by clicking on the link in either PoolDoc's or Watermom's signature. To be a little technical, the FAS-DPD test for Free Chlorine and Combined Chloramines is the best chlorine test by far.
The kit Carl mentioned can be purchased through this link. http://pool9.net/tk/ You are not likely to find it anywhere locally.
