New pool started..

Hello Guys,

I am Nathan and just had my pool started building. One question,

The pool company thats building my pool did the following so far:

Make pool borders
Dig the pool..
Put the borders inside ground (walls).
Now they have a water pump, water going from my house to the pool and its draining outside in the woods...I asked how long wil it stay like this. He answered about a week or so until they get the shell in. He said they have to get the water out from the ground. But the water is going from my hose to the ground and then draining out...so its doing the same work over and over and the meter for water is ticking...Can someone tell me if this is normal building process? I am new and first time pool owner and just want to make sure everything is going as planned.
