bad pump motor
I moved to my house last year which had a above ground pool already, its all good except for the loud pump.but worked good last year but this year after a month, its gotten louder(louder then my lawnmower, haha)now sometimes it works, sometimes it dont.anyway i took it apart and the pump part looks good but its hard to get the motor to spin,it will one way and not the other, then it will spin both ways and then sometimes not at all.Its a general electric 3/4 horse. the inspection date is 1992!so i assume its OLD.can the bearings be replaced or should new motor be had? model #5kh39qn3247

Re: bad pump motor
New motors are more energy efficient and quiet. I'd replace either the motor alone or the whole pump with a new one.

Re: bad pump motor
so a new one will be about 100 to 150,how much for just the bearings?if that can be replaced.
but then again, one that old is prob worn all the way through right?
beside the fact that it uses alot more electric then newer ones .
