How long till chlorine level will drop
I had to shock my AG 18x34 yesterday, it started to get a little cloudy. Definitely made a difference.
FC is at 14ppm, how long will it take to drop to a swim-able level if there is no stabilizer in there. It's also has a solar cover on it.
Also, what is a swim-able level for FC?

thanks for help
Re: How long till chlorine level will drop
You shocked yesterday. Have you checked your fc today? Because, without stabilizer / cya it might already be gone.
Re: How long till chlorine level will drop
yes I did. It's 14ppm. We had no sun today, rain and heavy clouds.
Re: How long till chlorine level will drop
Ok, but my point was meant to say...
Your larger issue is not having cya. You'll loose fc very rapidly without it. How fast is based on many factors (algae, sun, etc). The only way to control the rate of loss is with cya.
What was your reading just after you shocked? That reading compared with now with will give you a good indication of the rate of decline for your situation.
Re: How long till chlorine level will drop
It was 15ppm yesterday after shocking. I just want to be able to use the pool come Saturday.
Re: How long till chlorine level will drop
Checked your weather forecast...Haverhill will be sunny and hot next couple days. Your fc losses will be higher. Saturday is looking good.
Re: How long till chlorine level will drop
Cool. Will the solar cover slowdown the FC loss? Also, what is an acceptable FC level to swim in?
Re: How long till chlorine level will drop
A solar cover shouldn't make much difference.

Re: How long till chlorine level will drop
You can swim even at shock level with no problems. Just don't want to wear your best swimsuits that might fade.
